Spotlights

Spotlights

There are different kinds of spotlights for different occasions. These include outdoor spotlights, handheld spotlights, stage lighting spotlights, halogen spotlights, accent lighting spotlights, and basic spotlights. The following lists the different spotlights in each category: Outdoor- Searchlights, Security Lights, Flood lights, Outdoor Solar lights, Handheld- Flashlights, Vector lights, Unity Lights, Go-lights, Stage Lighting- Follow spots, Lighting controls, Fresnel lights, DMX Lighting, and Basic- Boat spotlights, Solar, Remote Control, Rechargeable.

There are also other random types of spotlights, such as IR spotlights, infrared spotlights, and rechargeable spotlights. IR spotlights are very big and are normally only used just as searchlights. Infrared spotlights are very large spotlights. These lights sense heat and change color depending on the temperature. Rechargeable spotlights don’t suck up all your electricity; the only time electricity is used for these is when you are charging them. They come with adapters that can be used in your home, studio, or even your car.

IR Spotlights

IR spotlights enhance your night vision greatly for only a little more money. They’ve usually got somewhere around 1 million candle power! That’s a lot of light. So, before purchasing and IR spotlight, you should make sure that it is something that you really need. IR spotlights are most commonly used for things such as searchlights, and almost never used for spotlight photography or filming. The light would be too bright to achieve the look you want. Unless, of course you’re going for an extremely dramatic one, then the IR spotlight is good, because it’ll be so dramatic you won’t be able to see your subject; only light! IR spotlights are very big and heavy, so places such as a studio or a filming stage more than likely wouldn’t be able to support their weight, not to mention the space.

Rechargeable Spotlights

Normal spotlights have cords to plug in. The advantage of this is that you can use the light for as long as you want. The drawback of a normal spotlight is that the cords can be annoying to fumble with, and it sucks electricity out of your studio or your establishment. If you’d like a solution to this problem, you should look to a rechargeable spotlight. Some of these are usually small, and come with adapters (cords) that can go in your car, your home, or your business establishment. The only time these spotlights use electricity is when they’re being charged. The spotlight conserves the energy until you use it, and the length of time you can use the light depends on how long you charge it for.
