Multimedia Projectors Information

Once upon a time, when one thought of projectors the images that might have come to mind were limited to the classic movie theatre reel clicking away, or maybe the long goose like neck of an overhead used to project those transparency sheets that teachers cherished so much and bored employees to death during those never ending board meetings. Thanks to the advancement of technology, the way we view presentations in the theatre, classroom, boardroom, and even at home has become a refined and innovative multimedia experience. Model types, functionality and portability vary almost as greatly as price. Essentially, multimedia projectors are classified as either LCD (liquid crystal display), or DLP (digital light processing). LCD is the most commonly manufactured of the two because of its preferred data quality, while DLP tends to be the smaller, not to mention lighter, of the two and projects grayscale images with more clarity. The primary function of multimedia projectors is to sensationalize the viewer’s experience through an integration of audio and video presentation via computer technology.

SVGA Multimedia Projectors

When it comes to image quality in projectors, resolution should be the focus. Resolution is conveyed through pixels, which are the smallest possible units that can be displayed on a screen. As a result the higher the number of pixels, the greater the resolution; and the greater the resolution the finer the detail in the image being projected. Depending upon the need and budget of the purchaser, there are several types of resolution available: SVGA (super video graphics array), at 800 x 600 pixels; XGA (extended video graphics array), at 1024 x 768 pixels; SXGA, at 1280 x 1024 pixels; UXGA at 1600 x 1200 pixels; and the most advanced WSXGA, which splits the resolution into vertical and horizontal – 1920 x 1600 horizontal pixels, and 1080 x 900 vertical pixels. Whatever the purpose, there is a multimedia projector to suit any need.

Multimedia Projector In The Classroom

Projectors have always been an integral part of the classroom learning environment. Advancements in technology have lead to inventive ways to captivate student’s interest and promote learning. Multimedia projectors are ideal for this purpose. The needs of each classroom can vary greatly, and so do the capabilities of the projector used. Some of the factors that influence what type of projector works well in a scholastic setting are picture performance, resolution, lamp life, portability, brightness, PC connections and quiet operation. In addition, overall projector performance, ease of use, purchase price and cost of operation are also taken into great consideration when determining which product is best. So whether it is used for text, audio, graphics or full-motion video multimedia projectors are the right tool to provide a fully interactive learning environment.
